Bed-Sharing Linked to SIDS: Risk factors for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) appear to change with the age of the infant, researchers say.
They found that younger babies are more likely to die when they're sharing beds, while older babies face a higher risk of sudden death when there are objects in the crib with them, such as pillows and toys.

I feel as though there are many studies that both support and oppose bed sharing, or co sleeping with babies. When I was pregnant I vowed I would never let our baby sleep in the bed and that he would be in his own room in his own crib. Well that all changed after he was born. I kept him in bed with us at night and I thought we did it safely and I loved the connection and bond it gave us. It may not work for you but it worked for us and I think everyone needs to do what works and is best for them.
